June 2023 Update

This is probably my shortest Blog post ever:

The primary update for Redpants is that I'm no longer going to allow orders of most backordered items due to ongoing issues with some supply chains. I've been allowing quite a few parts to be available on backorder so they can be purchased even if I didn't have them on the shelf. Generally, they’d be back in stock quickly so the delay would be minimal - customers would get the parts they need and I’d get the sales I rely upon. But lately I've been getting way too many complaints for the parts not shipping immediately even when they’re listed as being on backorder, so I'm getting rid of the option to buy those parts unless I actually have them on the shelf.

The key exception to this is items that are drop shipped directly from manufacturers/suppliers to customers. These may be listed as In Stock or as Available on Backorder depending on a reasonable expectation of prompt shipment or an expected delay. Please contact me before ordering if you need to know when something is expected to ship.

I’ve removed my shippers’ email address from the Contact page to streamline communications. If you need something, please contact me directly through the contact form on that page, or directly by email: rich@redpants.lol (the form goes to this same email address). Emails or messages to any other email address or account may not be seen.
